MASON CITY, Iowa — KIMT-TV news anchor Jodi Huisentruit overslept on the morning of June 27, 1995.

She was supposed to be at work at the Mason City, Iowa station at 3:30 a.m. to anchor at 6. She called in to work to say she was heading right in, but never showed, and has never been heard from since.

The website FindJodi.com has been keeping Huisentruit's story alive with awareness campaigns, blog posts and updates. They put together a new poster asking people to come forward with any details they remember from that time.

"The smallest clue may help solve this case," the poster reads. A new video was also made to spread awareness ahead of the 30th anniversary.

FindJodi.com says the anchor had told people the day before her disappearance that she was planning to change her phone number due to harassing phone calls. The coworker who spoke with her on the phone that morning said everything sounded ordinary during their conversation. Huisentruit is believed to have been abducted next to her car, just steps from the entrance of her apartment building. Her key was slightly bent, her red heels, blow dryer, earrings and hair spray were found scattered on the ground nearby.

Huisentruit, a Minnesota native, was 27 years old when she disappeared.

The most recent news in the case came this past spring, when an Iowa judge unsealed parts of a search warrant involving a one-time acquaintance of Huisentruit's who became a person of interest in her 1995 disappearance. Prosecutors and Huisentruit's family opposed making the contents public, concerned it could impact the ongoing investigation.

Anyone with information on the case should contact the Mason City Police Department at (641) 421-3636. Iowa DCI Special Agent Ryan Herman: [email protected]. You can also send an anonymous tip to FindJodi.com.
